(Before you go ahead and start cleaning, remember it’s always worth spot-testing any new product you’re going to use to make sure it won’t damage your surfaces.)

How to speed-clean your sink

What you’ll need

  • Baking soda, or another cleaning solution (We find baking soda is a quick and effective cleaner but please feel free to use another cleaning solution if you prefer)
  • Microfibre or other soft cloths

How to do it

  1. Empty the sink and rinse it with warm water.
  2. Sprinkle the baking soda, or other cleaner you’ve chosen, over the whole sink, then scrub it with a cloth.
  3. Rinse the sink with running water and wipe with a dry cloth. Make sure you remove all the drops of water and thoroughly dry the sink to make it really shine.1

How to speed-clean your bath

Along with your sink, the bath is a real magnet for soap scum and grime. Yet a clean bath will make your entire room feel cleaner and fresher.

What you’ll need

  • Equal parts water and white vinegar in a spray bottle2
  • Microfibre or other soft cloths

How to do it

  1. Spray all over the bath with the vinegar solution.
  2. Leave the solution to work for a few minutes.
  3. Wipe the bath, rinse it clean and for a real sparkle dry with a soft cloth.

How to speed-clean your toilet

Cleaning the toilet is probably everyone’s least favourite job. So the faster you can get it done the better!

What you’ll need

  • Waterproof household cleaning gloves
  • Toilet brush
  • Toilet cleaner
  • Disinfectant spray
  • Cloths

How to do it

  1. Put on your protective gloves.
  2. Start with the bowl. Apply the bowl cleaner under the rim (did you know you can use Coca-Cola3 for this?) and let it run down. Scrub under the rim and all around the bowl with the brush. Then close the lid and leave the cleaner to work for a few minutes.
  3. While the cleaner is working in the bowl, start at the top of the tank and spray all over the outside of the toilet with disinfectant. Don’t forget the flush handle.
  4. Wipe down the outside of the toilet, making sure you repeatedly rinse out the cloth in hot water.
  5. Open the lid of the toilet and clean around the rim with disinfectant.
  6. Finally scrub inside the toilet bowl again with the toilet brush.
